The Kennel Gazette Junior Warrant Competition was held in the main ring at Crafts on the 5th March 2009.
Ten dogs had won their way via various national open shows to compete in the semi finals held at Earls Court London. Fifty Four dogs competed at Earls Court for the final ten places to compete at Crufts in the final.
It was a dream come true and a privilege to compete in the final, whilst at the same time a very nerve wrecking experience.
The final competition started with ten fantastic dogs of various breeds entering the ring to be judged by Mr David Guy.
As the judge examined each dog the anxiety grew until the judge was ready to select his winner. He selected an excellent Siberian Husky “Coldasice Cebalrai” as his winner.
As the judge stepped back to look at the remaining nine dogs we never once thought that Connor would be selected.
As you can imagine, we were totally shocked and numb when David Guy pulled out Connor as his runner up, this was soon overtaken with so much pride and joy in what Connor had just achieved.
We will never forget the day we had in the main ring at Crufts on the 5th March 2009
